Dr. Matherne was born and raised in the small town of Destrehan, LA, however her medical training helped her spread her wings, taking her from the Caribbean to Europe to New York and New Jersey, where she did most of her training. Her most memorable experiences were spent on a medical mission trip to Haiti. She feels all of this has helped to shape the person and doctor she is today. She would never trade this for anything, but, being a true southern girl at heart, she is so happy to be settled back home in New Orleans with her husband Andrew and daughter Ava.
